Bio

Joseph Gamble is a professional photographer and travel writer based in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Trinity College with a degree in English Literature and spent his post-graduate years as a journalist at the Nantucket Beacon newspaper on Nantucket Island. After thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1999, he worked for three years as an editor, photographer and writer for Scuba Diving magazine. He went on to complete the Master of Fine Arts degree in photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He attended the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop, Barnstorm XVIII, as a blue team member in October 2005.

Joseph is an active member of the American Society of Media Photographers, Editorial Photographers, the National Press Photographers Association, Sports Shooter and the University Photographers' Association of America. He is currently employed as the campus photographer for the University of South Florida and as a photography instructor at the International Academy of Design and Technology. Joseph serves as the director of the Tampa Bay chapter of Flashes of Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and terminal illnesses.
